This year is no exception – WAOU 25 presents new works by 13 prominent Danish and international artists. In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to explore works by several other gallery artists.

WAOU 25 – Art and Culture in the Heart of the City
Galleri NB celebrates Royal Run and launches the major summer group exhibition WAOU 25
Viborg comes alive in early summer with three major events bringing energy to the city's streets and squares: Royal Runon June 9, the newly established Forever Festival – a music festival expected to attract more than 25,000 guests – and the traditional Snapsting festival at the end of the month. Together, these events draw tens of thousands of visitors and highlight Viborg’s status as a dynamic city of culture in motion.
As the city buzzes with activity, Galleri NB makes a strong contribution of its own: a combination of public art and a bold summer exhibition under the title WAOU 25.
On Whit Monday, as Royal Run passes through the heart of Viborg, Galleri NB on Sct. Mathias Torv will offer an added visual experience to participants and spectators alike. In collaboration with internationally acclaimed artist Vilmantas Marcinkevius, the gallery will place two monumental ceramic vessels on the square. These large-scale works, mounted on massive concrete bases, serve as striking landmarks and symbols of artistic presence in the urban flow.
In addition, Vilmantas has drawn inspiration from Royal Run itself to create three paintings that capture the energy, movement, and human connection of the event. These paintings will be displayed in the gallery’s front windows facing the square, providing a visual highlight for both runners and passersby.
The three new works, along with the ceramic pieces, are part of WAOU 25, opening on June 4 and running through July 25. This annual group exhibition brings together new works by some of the most prominent contemporary artists affiliated with Galleri NB. This year’s exhibition features:
Andrea Damp · Daniela Schönemann · Hugo Tieleman · John Reuss · Krestine Harboe · Kristian Vodder Svensson · Marius Martinussen · Nana RHB · Paul Smulders · Sabine Beyerle · Steen Larsen · Toon Berghahn · Vilmantas Marcinkevius – and more to come.
With WAOU 25 and its artistic contribution to Royal Run, Galleri NB demonstrates how art can interact with Viborg’s major events to create new encounters between people, movement, and aesthetics. And with the musical impact of Forever Festival and the multifaceted program of Snapsting on the horizon, Viborg promises a summer season full of inspiration and cultural experiences.
