Blowing Through the Curtains is an artistic interpretation of the infamous battle of Arnhem in virtual and augmented reality. An interpretation that simultaneously brings the war theme of violence, loss and displacement to global current events.


Simon Løvind - Guest jury 2021

Head of Games & Digital Media, Danish Film Institute.

Simon Løvind is head of the unit for Games & Digital Media at the Danish Film Institute.

He functions as a commissioning editor and has been running and defining the cultural support scheme for games at the Danish Film Institute in more than 10 years. He has a work background in interaction design a well as game design and have also produced interactive installation art. Simon has been shaping and taking part in ANIDOX since 2012.

Peter Fisher – Guest Jury 2021
Co-Founder, director, Khora, DK
Peter is the Co-founder of Khora, an award winning XR production studio based in Copenhagen. Khora creates cutting edge content within multiple application areas and has produced more than 300 XR applications. Khora is exploring the value potential of XR through meaningful collaborations.  

Maria Herholdt Engermann – Guest jury 2021

Virtual Reality Experience Designer

Maria is the founder of the award-winning XR studio MANND (Aarhus), which specializes in creating innovative experiences that pushes the limits of XR storytelling. MANND has exhibited at A-ranked venues such as Cannes- and Venice Film Festival.

Abner Preis - Guest panel
Director and artist
Abner is a story-teller and his work is rooted in personal aspirations to give one hope in a situation that seems hopeless, to transfer the ability to laugh at sadness, and to seduce viewers into seeing beauty in bleak objects by offering compositions that play to emotion before aesthetics. With his research, sensitivity and awareness, he provides the simple and extremely complex facility to tell a story with visuals that can be felt before they are understood.

Uri Kranot -  ANIDOX Moderator
Filmmaker and Adjunct Professor at the Animation Workshop / VIA University College.
Uri Kranot is a key expert in his field, with a special interest animated documentaries in VR.  A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He has recently won the Grand Jury Prize for Best VR Immersive Work at 77th Venice International Film Festival. And at Cannes Film Festival. Awards for previous works include the FIPRESCI Prize at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, a place on the Academy Awards® Shortlist, and the Danish Arts Foundation award.

Presenting contemporary works selected by a team of top industry professionals: We invite you to experience the technology bringing you outstanding storytelling and craftsmanship.

The 2021 jury will award two prizes:

  • The Grand Jury Prize – 1000 Euro to the director of the most outstanding work.
  • The Residency Award – Given by the Open Workshop, for the development of new work.

The highlight of ANIDOX:VR 2021 is a dedicated ANIDOX Seminar programme with expert guests, artists and key figures from the art-meets-technology landscape, the seminar is geared towards both a professional audience, and those with no background in the field. The seminar talks are held both on location and online; empowering our community and opening up to new possibilities.
