Kristian Vodder Svensson
REBORN
02.11 – 30.11
Galleri NB opens on Saturday 2 November, a new solo exhibition by Kristian Vodder Svensson entitled "Reborn". The exhibition marks an important milestone in Vodder Svensson's career, where he reflects on central themes that are based on his previous artistic career. Reborn can therefore be experienced as a refinement of flash backs at his previous exhibitions in Galleri NB. In that context, it is also exciting to observe the extra focus he has in this exhibition on the light in the works.
Themes of the exhibition:
"Reborn" explores reference points from Kristian Vodder Svensson's career, where he revisits earlier motifs and concepts and refines them with a mature and deep understanding of time and transformation.
The paintings in this exhibition invite the viewer to a symbolic journey through time, where past, present and future intertwine in a reflection on man's experience of the passage of time. The cycle of the seasons plays a central role as a metaphor for change and renewal – not only the colours, but also the themes.
Unique painting technique and a whimsical universe:
Kristian Vodder Svensson is known for his unique painting technique, which combines a spontaneous and intuitive approach with deeply refined craftsmanship. His paintings are characterized by a powerful use of colour, layered compositions and an almost dreamlike universe where the abstract meets the figurative.
This style creates exciting and whimsical narratives that open up to different interpretations, depending on how the viewer engages with the work. Each brushstroke seems to hide a story, and each motif offers a glimpse into a universe where time, space and the rhythms of nature merge.
Kristian Vodder Svensson's works manage to balance between the concrete and the enigmatic, and it is this ability to create layer upon layer of meaning that makes his paintings so fascinating. The viewer is invited to step into a world where the known and the unknown exist side by side, and where a subtle humor is often hidden behind the complex compositions.
