25th Anniversary – An Artistic Journey with Heart and Intuition
On March 31, 2000, Susanne Kam Kristensen joined Galleri NB, and today, 25 years later, her dedication and administrative expertise have become an indispensable part of the gallery’s daily operations. Over the years, Susanne, who later became a partner in the gallery, has played a key role in its management and development.
To mark her anniversary, Susanne has curated a grand anniversary exhibition featuring artworks that hold special significance for her. Many of these pieces have been in the gallery for years, still waiting to find their perfect home—a process that has fostered a deep connection between Susanne and the works. Others are more recent, but what unites them all is the strong emotions and memories they evoke in her. This makes for an incredibly personal exhibition.
As Susanne herself explains: “Provocative art has its place and can be inspiring—but for this exhibition, I have chosen works I want to surround myself with in my daily life. Art that I could imagine hanging on my own walls.” The exhibition offers insight into Susanne’s personal relationship with art and her experience with the selected pieces.
Susanne has always had a deep passion for art. Even before joining Galleri NB, she took the initiative to start an art association at her previous workplace and organized an exhibition with the help of Thorkild NB, whom she did not know at the time. Over the years, Susanne has also purchased art for herself and her children. “It’s hard to imagine a home without something on the walls. Whether it’s soul-made art, photo collages, or posters, there is always something that adds a spark to everyday life,” says Susanne. She also highlights how art can transform a space and open doors to new experiences.
Her 25 years at Galleri NB have been an artistic journey where Susanne has had a significant impact on the gallery’s financial growth. Her collaboration with Thorkild NB Nielsen is characterized by mutual respect, where they each bring their strengths and complement each other in the best possible way.
