Nature’s connections – between decay and renewal
Hugo Tieleman is a significant voice in contemporary Dutch art, exploring the challenges and possibilities of the natural world. In Echoes of the Green, he examines nature as a complex, living system shaped by change, interconnectedness and renewal.
The forest’s organic processes provide the starting point for the works. Decay gives rise to growth, while the invisible networks of mycelium connect trees, plants and soil within a larger whole.
For Tieleman, nature becomes more than a subject: it offers a perspective on our own existence. Through a poetic and exploratory visual language, Echoes of the Green draws attention to nature’s remarkable resilience and invites us to rethink our relationship with the world of which we are a part.
