Art for spaces of every scale

Art brings character, a sense of connection and identity to the places where people work, meet and spend time.

Art can contribute to a positive working environment and reflect an organisation’s values. Investing in original art also offers tax benefits under the Danish tax depreciation rules for businesses and organisations.

We advise on art for spaces of every scale, from small offices, clinics and businesses to educational institutions, hospitals and major architectural projects. Our approach always centres on the client’s wishes, quality, a coherent relationship between art and space, and solutions with lasting value.

Artworks displayed on walls or as freestanding pieces

Businesses can claim tax depreciation on investments in original art, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints and installation art, provided that the works:

  • are purchased as a first sale, rather than on the secondary market
  • are displayed on the business premises as part of its professional setting
  • are original works; reproductions are not eligible
  • in the case of prints or photographic works, are signed, numbered and produced in limited editions
  • are purchased directly from the artist or through a gallery acting under a consignment agreement.
  •

Artworks integrated into buildings

Special tax depreciation rules apply to murals, mosaics and artworks permanently incorporated into a building.

Businesses can claim tax depreciation at 3% per year on the cost of integrated artworks—works that form a permanent part of the architecture by being embedded in, nailed to or otherwise fixed to a building or its immediate surroundings.

The same rules apply whether the artwork is installed during construction, as part of a renovation or at another time.
