Artist statement:
For me art is painting. Although I have tried drawing and graphic, painting remains the most intimate expression for me for many years.
Art critics attribute my art to neo-expressionism. As a student I thought of my style as being intuitive. Up until now I have developed my art and my style, I am improving it, I am looking for new and relevant variations but the essence of my art remains the same.

The severe and sometimes contrasting colours in my paintings come largely from the reflection of today's world. I use awkward and non-traditional colour harmony - colours that dare to speak boldly and clearly. I am interested in the challenges facing each painting.

I let myself create spontaneously. Artworks for me are honest actions that require the preparation and reflection before the process begins. Each of the paintings has a main theme, although they are naturally filled with additional meanings.

The themes of my paintings also reflect the environment. Some of them are my personal and everyday experiences; others are a response to today's world and its actual topics issues - politics, history, sexuality and art.

I always enjoy the artist privilege to ask awkward questions to the viewer - questions about the history of the nation, the state and the individual, victory and price of loss in policy, economy and personal life. I hope that my viewers interpret my works through their own point of view using their own experience.
I constantly participate in various art projects in Lithuania and abroad. I believe that artworks have to cross the boundaries of galleries and exhibition halls and join the urban environment bringing art to the people.
